TUESDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF LENT B

Dear friends, trust in God is, “Sure Banker”, it does not and can never disappoint.

Good morning, dear friends and welcome to Tuesday of the third week of Lent Year B.  As we begin this day, it is my prayer that God will deliver us from all adversities, today and always, through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Dear friends, where lies your faith and trust?

“Azariah stood up in the midst of the fire and prayed aloud: ‘Do not abandon us forever, do not reject your covenant for your name’s sake.  Do not withdraw your mercy from us… But with a contrite soul and a humble spirit may we be acceptable to you, as though it were burnt offerings of rams and bulls, or of thousands of fat lambs… Do not leave us in our humiliation, but treat us according to your kindness and your great mercy.  Free us in keeping with your wonders, and give us the glory of your name O Lord….’”

Daniel 3; 25, 34-43

Dear friends, this passage, tells the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship king Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image.  In the midst of the flames, Nebuchadnezzar observed a fourth figure, whom he described as “like a son of the gods,” walking with the three men unharmed.  This passage reflects the unwavering faith and trust in God displayed by the three men even in the face of certain death.  They were willing to endure the fiery furnace rather than compromise their allegiance to their God.  Their courage and faith remind us of the power of trust in God’s providence even in the most challenging circumstances.  It encourages us to stand firm in our conviction and trust that God is present with us, even in the midst of the flames of adversity.

Dear friends, trust in God is, “Sure Banker”, it does not and can never disappoint.

Let us pray.

Glorious God,

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, may we trust in Your presence amidst life’s fires.  Strengthen our faith to stand firm in adversity.  Grant us courage to remain faithful, knowing that You are our protector and deliverer.  May Your name be glorified forever, in our lives.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

The Lord be with you.
