WEDNESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF LENT B

As the children of God that we are, let us cling tightly to Him and be rest assured that He will never cast us out nor abandon us.

Good morning, dear friends and welcome to Wednesday of the fourth week of Lent Year B.  We pray this day that God will bless our going out and our coming in: may God guide and guard us throughout this day through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Dear friends, do you sometimes feel God has abandoned you?

“Thus says the Lord: In the time of my favour, I have answered you, on the day of salvation I have helped you… But, Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me, my Lord has forgotten me.’  Can a woman forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child of her womb?  Even if these were to forger, I will not forget you.”

Isaiah 49:8-15

Dear friends, in this passage, we see a vivid portrayal of God’s unfailing love and commitment to His people.  The comparison between a mother’s love for her child and God’s love for us is deeply moving.  It reminds us that no matter how uncertain or abandoned we may feel, God’s love remains unwavering and eternal.  This passage offers reassurance and comfort, emphasizing the enduring presence and care of God, especially during times of difficulty.

So, my dear friends, as the children of God that we are, let us cling tightly to Him and be rest assured that He will never cast us out nor abandon us.

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father,

In the midst of our doubts and fears, we cling to Your promises of restoration and compassion.  Like a loving mother, You never forget us.  Strengthen our faith to trust in Your unwavering love, knowing that You are always with us, guiding us through every trial.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

The Lord be with you.
