Good morning my dear friends and welcome to Monday of the second week of Lent Year B. May the Good bless us and guide our footsteps today and throughout this week, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear friends, to God alone belongs integrity; and to us the look of shame we wear today.
Dear friends, Daniel’s prayer is, and should be our prayer, this day and always. It reflects humility, repentance, and acknowledgement of God’s righteousness. He confesses his sins and the sins of his people, recognizing their disobedience and the consequences it brought upon them. Daniel appeals to God’s mercy and asked for forgiveness and restoration. This passage underscores the importance of sincere repentance and recognition of God’s sovereignty in times of adversity. It invites us to reflect on our own shortcomings and the need for a genuine contrition in our relationship with God.
Dear friends, I invite us now to take a few moments and reflect on our relationship with our God.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we humbly acknowledge our transgressions and the consequences of our disobedience. Yours is the righteousness, ours the shame. Grant us forgiveness and restoration as we seek Your mercy and grace. Help us to turn from our ways and walk in Your truth, O Lord.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Lord be with you.
